National Outreach

Appalachia Service Project  -  Sr High 180 Service Trip - Each year the high school youth group of our congregation travels to the Central Appalachian Region for a week to serve with the Appalachia Service Project, a Christian home repair ministry.  Because our church believes in the mission and ministries of this organization, we have recently begun sending an adult team each year as well.

Apportionments - As United Methodists, our local church is connected to all other United Methodist churches in the world. Apportionments are the way that local churches combine their financial resources to enable our vision for mission and ministry at every level of the UMC.

CROP Hunger Walk  -  CROP Hunger Walk promotes hunger education and fundraising events sponsored by Church World Service. See http://cwscrop.org/greatrivers/ for more information.

Henderson Settlement - Adult members of our congregation volunteer each spring at the Henderson Settlement in Kentucky, serving people in the local community.

UMCOR  -  The United Methodist Committee on Relief (UMCOR) is the not-for-profit global humanitarian aid organization of the United Methodist Church.

United Methodist Volunteers in Mission  -  Adults from our church have joined other churches in the area to participate in relief efforts in Kentucky, New Orleans, and Joplin, Mississippi.
